Cree Historical Teachings

A grounded exploration of Cree history, language, and worldview

This session weaves together Cree historical teachings, cultural protocols, and language-based learning. Led by Elder Philip Nanimahoo and Janine Nanimahoo, it explores pre- and post-treaty history, kinship systems, land-based knowledge, and the lasting impacts of colonization, including Treaty 8 and residential schools. Through storytelling, lived experience, and introductory nêhiyawêwin, participants gain a deeper understanding of Cree worldviews, governance, and relational responsibilities in a respectful, educational setting.

Indigenous Awareness Training

A focused, culturally grounded training designed to support organizations in creating intercultural safety and building respectful, informed, and culturally safe workplaces.

This session explores Indigenous histories, contemporary realities, and practical approaches to working in relationship with Indigenous peoples and communities. It also introduces the concept of reclaiming pre-systems of care, highlighting Indigenous ways of knowing, supporting one another, and maintaining balance long before colonial systems were imposed.
